On August 6 at Bookshelf at the Boatworks, Todd Borg signed copies of his Owen McKenna mystery thrillers set in Lake Tahoe.

We had celebrations with costume contests and trivia contests 
on July 16 and 17 to welcome the release of

the Harry Potter Series.

Authors Pamela and Mary “Perri” O’Shaughnessy,
stopped by Bookshelf at Hooligan Rocks and Bookshelf at the Boatworks on the July 5 to sign copies of  Case of Lies, their latest Nina Reilly thriller set in South Lake.
We have autographed copies of Ultra Marathon Man, by Dean Karnazeswho was here for the  Western States 100-mile Run in late June. 

On May 14th,
Bookshelf at Hooligan Rocks hosted David Beesley, author of Crow’s Range: an Environmental History of the Sierra Nevada for a signing of his new book from University of Nevada Press
 


On April 29 we celebrated National Poetry Month with 
Calling All Poets!
a Community Celebration of Poetry at the Truckee Community Center, featuring artist-in-residence Cathee St. Claire's elementary school poets and the Jibboom Street Writers.

On February 12, Bookshelf and the Friends of the Truckee Library hosted a capacity crowd for a Blues Book Bash featuring live blues, southern cooking, and a multi-media presentation and book signing with Buzzy Jackson, author of A Bad Woman Feeling Good: Blues and the Women Who Sing ThemBuzzy grew up in Truckee and used to work at Bookshelf. She now lives with her husband in  Colorado, and is working on her next book.


Truckee Trattoria and the Lake Tahoe Chapter of The Ninety-Nines hoste da gala signing \event with Bookshelf at Hooligan Rocks for  Laurel and Tom Lippert's book You Can Fly!, which addresses questions that most prospective pilots have about the flight training process. The colorful layout and Tom Lippert¹s photographs  illustrate the beauty of flight and support the book¹s premise: that the rewards of learning to fly are worth the challenge.
